I wanted to run a few idea past you see what you thought about Eurovision
It may be worthwhile reviving the Castlebar song Contest, it has a long history of being won by Irish Eurovision winners and the Swedes!
You hold a final with about twelve songs on a Saturday in Castlebar or somewhere else down the country eg like Killarney. There are six chosen by a panel and six songs which have been selected out of twenty from an online selection.
All voting is done by half jury/half televote
The one thing I keep hearing (which the Danes are doing) is a song with a catchy chorus (think ear worm).
The other option is a sweeping enormous new age or ballad number by someone like Clannad if you are doing an internal selection.
It might be time to start listening to the public opinion again.
